Software Platform Engineer (Banking Domain) Bangi, Malaysia

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Platform Engineer to provide Level 2 support for a custom-developed middleware API layer integrated with our Operational Data Source (ODS) Platform. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our ODS infrastructure primarily focused on Node.js and MongoDB. Compose this is a individual email job post. Key Responsibilities Platform Support & Administration Provide Level 2 operational support for custom API services across environments (Production, DR, UAT, SIT), including MongoDB integrations. Perform routine maintenance, health checks, and performance tuning. Troubleshoot incidents and escalate to Level 3 or vendor support when required. Deployment & Environment Management Execute deployments for data pipelines, API services, and platform upgrades. Coordinate with development teams to package, validate, and deploy solutions according to release schedules. Data Operations & API Support Support deployment and operational readiness of API services consuming/exposing MongoDB data. Troubleshoot API issues and ensure downstream integration stability. Incident & Problem Management Investigate platform incidents and escalate when needed. Maintain logs and records of incidents, resolutions, and deployments. Stakeholder Engagement Act as a liaison between business squads, developers, and product principals. Collaborate to resolve support tickets and drive proactive platform improvements. Architecture & Design Participation Contribute to architectural discussions on scalability, performance, and maintainability. Provide input on API integration strategies between ODS and downstream systems. Documentation & Knowledge Management Maintain documentation for deployment, support procedures, and configurations. Ensure compliance with internal standards and audit requirements. Support knowledge transfer and training for Level 1 support teams. Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience. 35 years experience in software/IT domains. Exposure to API frameworks, reporting/analytics systems. Comfortable reading/modifying code (Node.js, Python) and scripts. Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and Jenkins CI/CD. Familiar with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, ELK). Banking product/process knowledge is an advantage. Preferred Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and documentation skills. Ability to work with business squads to define solutions. Team player, resourceful, and comfortable in agile environments.
