Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer II to join our Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bangalore. As a Software Engineer II, you will manage a medium-sized program within the Services and Connectivity (S&C) SBU, collaborating closely with developers, the ADS team, and program stakeholders. Your primary mission will be to lead the development of web applications and database solutions, ensuring they are highly configurable, of high quality, and delivered with agility and efficiency.

Key Deliverables

  • Lead the architectural design for the Connected Engine project, ensuring the development of scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems that align with best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, architectural assessments, and implementation evaluations to guarantee the delivery of high-quality and bug-free software.
  • Define, implement, and enforce software quality and testing standards, ensuring adherence to performance benchmarks.
  • Proactively identify and resolve both technical and team challenges, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Serve as a hands-on engineer, mentoring junior team members, providing technical guidance, and fostering collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to drive project success and meet established deadlines.
  • Take ownership of technical decisions, ensuring alignment with business and project objectives, while considering inputs from cross-functional teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in web application development using modern technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in Full Stack web services development.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, software integration, unit testing, and debugging and agile principles.
  • Demonstrable experience with cloud services, particularly Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  • Experience in web applications hosting/deployment.
  • Familiarity with the Aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency with AGILE Process/Tools
  • Exposure to working with sales, marketing, and/or product teams on software development projects.

Skills

Must-Have Skills

  • Technical: Proficiency in JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, RESTful APIs, including design and implementation.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding standards, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Behavioral & Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Process & SOP: Experience in creating and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions using data-driven approaches.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Advanced Technical: Experience with advanced JavaScript frameworks, serverless architectures, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Additional Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud computing (e.g., Azure Developer Associate) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master).
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Experience working with sales, marketing, or UX/UI teams in defining software requirements and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Leadership Traits: Experience mentoring junior engineers, leading small teams, or driving technical initiatives within the organization.

Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization and continuous improvement.
