Job Description

This role provides leadership and management for a global team of software engineers in HPC, AI, or related technical software development domains. The manager will oversee multiple projects, drive execution excellence, develop talent, and ensure alignment with organizational roadmaps and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and ongoing leadership for software engineers, including mentoring, coaching, and developing talent.
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Set expectations for deliverables, product quality, schedules, and budgets in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicate project status effectively to stakeholders and manage relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Ensure team members are effectively collaborating across the organization and identify opportunities for team improvements.
  • Provide people-care management, including hiring, setting and monitoring annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.
  • Ensure proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in a related software engineering field.
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Prior experience in HPC, AI, or related technical software development.
  • Experience using agile methodologies and developing/managing software in production environments.
  • 25 years of experience managing a technical team and managing managers.
  • Experience developing and managing software in C, C++, or Python within a Linux environment is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
