Job Description

Kennedys is looking for a Software Engineer - QA to join the Kennedys IT team in Kerala. The successful candidate will work as part of the Development team based in Kerala.

The development team, spread globally with the largest presence being in Kerala and in the UK, are responsible for building and maintaining in-house developed solutions, including those under the bracket of Kennedys IQ as well as those developed for and used internally by the LLP.

Our QA team facilitate and manage the technical and end user acceptance testing process for new releases, new solutions, and following major upgrades and migrations. This role will report to the Testing Manager and work closely with colleagues across multiple products, solutions, jurisdictions and skillsets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test cases for functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Validate new releases, new solutions, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Log, track, and verify defects; work closely with developers on resolutions.
  • Collaborate with global development teams across Kerala, UK, and other regions.
  • Support enduser acceptance testing and ensure test coverage meets requirements.
  • Produce clear test documentation, results, and release readiness reports.
  • Follow QA processes, standards, and security/compliance expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA processes and contribute to continuous improvement.

Essential

Required experience

  • Handson experience designing and executing functional, regression, system integration, and UAT test cases.
  • Strong background in software testing processes, defect logging, rootcause analysis, and working with developers to resolve issues.
  • Experience testing web applications across multiple browsers/devices (e.g., Edge, Chrome, Safari)
  • Familiarity with test documentation (test plans, scripts, results, release signoff).
  • Experience collaborating with distributed/global development teams.
  • Understanding of test environment setup, test data preparation, and configuration management.
  • Ability to follow structured QA standards, governance, and security/compliance requirements.

Desirable

  • Exposure to automation tools or willingness to contribute to automation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of API testing, data validation, or integrations.
  • Experience working across multiple products or jurisdictions in complex organisations.
