Job Description

The Software Engineer will focus on the design, development, and support of high-performance router and switch products, specializing in packet forwarding engines (PFE) and network services. The role involves troubleshooting complex customer deployments, sustaining existing features, and contributing to product architecture enhancements.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for router and switch products, including PFEs.
  • Focus on key areas such as L2/L3 forwarding, EVPN, CoS, Firewall/Filter, sFlow, IPFIX, and network services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance architecture and contribute to innovative networking technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in customer deployments and lab environments using advanced debugging and core file analysis.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software features while ensuring high quality and process adherence.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design to delivery, with a strong focus on multi-core architectures.

What You Need to Bring:

  • B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in software development for networking systems (routers/switches).
  • Strong C/C++ programming, design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including IP, bridging, OAM, multicast, QoS, filters, and L2/L3 forwarding.
  • Familiarity with multi-core software architectures and computer architecture concepts.
  • Proven record of delivering high-quality software projects on time.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, with strong analytical and technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with router/switch software development.
  • Hands-on exposure to EVPN, Firewall/Filter, CoS, sFlow, and IPFIX.
  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle and technical requirements management.
