Senior Software Engineer

Gurgaon, Haryana, India

We are hiring a talented, Agile, Senior Application Developer professional to join our Risk consulting IT team. Senior Application Developers are responsible for making application changes to provide the required IT services functionality for one or more applications under a Delivery Team. This includes the development and maintenance of custom applications as well as the customization of products from software vendors.

What You'll Be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include

  • Implement and document change in accordance with approved SDLC process and development standards.
  • Unit testing conducted to ensure changes are of sufficient quality before system testing.
  • Assist in impact analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with developers on other teams, internal, external, onshore, and offshore.
  • Support analysis and resolution of defects during application testing phases.
  • May serve as a member of a major incident team.
  • L3 support for problem root cause analysis.
  • Resolution of functional defects found during testing.
  • Estimation of development.
  • Assist with the creation of operational guidelines.
  • Assist with technical analysis of solution design.
  • Proactively identify and communicate improvements opportunities.
  • Participate in daily scrum.

What You Will BRING

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Prior experience on a scrum team.
  • Relevant years of development experience.
  • Proven development skills in one or more programming languages with additional skills in domain specific tools (Java, Servlet, XML, Json, Jsp ( HTML, java script, CSS), SQL server (complex sql queries, Stored procedure),Webservice (SOAP).
  • Knowledge of Secure coding practices and techniques.
  • Experience with developing apps in Cloud Technology - Azure Services is essential Web Apps, Web Jobs, Queuing framework, CI/CD, DevOps processes.
  • Prefer proficiency with multiple application delivery models including Agile, iterative and waterfall.
  • Prefer prior work experience in insurance and Risk Consulting technology field.
  • Adaptable to new/different strategies, programs, technologies, practices, cultures etc. comfortable with change, able to easily make transitions.
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems, business management, or related fields preferred.

  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict.
  • Experience with successful agile techniques.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.
  • Self-supported and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Harness CI / CD build and development pipelines a benefit.
  • Analytical approach to solving complex issues.
