Software Engineer Intern (Frontend + Backend Challenge)

Remote Internship | 2026 or 2027 Graduates Preferred

Role Description

This is a coding challenge-based internship designed for students or freshers looking to get hands-on experience with a meaningful genomics platform. Youll be contributing to the development of our Family History Pedigree Builder a real-world project that collects and visualizes hereditary health data securely.

Youll work with real technologies like Firebase, React, TypeScript, and Firestore to build features that could one day save lives.

What You&aposll Do

• Collaborate with other interns and engineers to develop the Family History Questionnaire
• Build frontend components using React + Material UI (Minimal UI Kit)
• Develop secure REST APIs using Firebase Functions (Node.js + Express)
• Store and retrieve data from Firestore
• Participate in optional bonus features like:
• Pedigree visualization using D3.js
• Export to PDF
• Admin dashboard for review
  

Coding Challenge Overview

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in CS/IT, graduating in 2026 or 2027
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript, React, or Node.js
• Familiarity with REST APIs and Firebase (a plus)
• Eager to learn, build, and contribute to meaningful code
• Commitment of 20 hours/week for the duration
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with mobile or full-stack development
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Understanding of data structures and clean architecture
