The Position
We are looking for an experienced
Java Backend / Full Stack Engineer to join our eCommerce platform team building next-generation in-flight payment and shopping experiences.
The role primarily focuses on
backend development in Java/Spring Boot, working on integrations with multiple payment providers and platforms.
You will also enhance an existing
TypeScript SDK, configuration tools, and demo applications used by internal teams and partners to validate integrations.
You will work across backend services, APIs, SDKs, and web interfaces in a highly collaborative Agile environment involving cloud infrastructure and avionics systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance backend microservices using Java Spring Boot
- Build integrations with payment gateways and payment platforms
- Design and maintain REST APIs and API documentation (OpenAPI)
- Enhance internal SDK written in TypeScript/JavaScript
- Update configuration tools and demo UI pages (React)
- Troubleshoot issues across backend, UI, DB, and network layers
- Implement authentication and security best practices (JWT, AWS Cognito)
- Work with cloud infrastructure and databases (AWS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB)
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows
- Document architecture, flows, and technical designs
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Strong backend experience in Java Spring Boot (microservices)
- Experience with payment gateway or fintech integrations
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript / JavaScript / Node.js
- Experience with React.js
- Strong REST API design and API documentation knowledge
- Database experience (MySQL / PostgreSQL / DynamoDB)
- Understanding of authentication, security and application performance
- Experience troubleshooting across full stack environments
- Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
Good to Have
- AWS cloud experience (RDS, Aurora, Cognito, CDK)
- Observability tools (Grafana, Tableau, QuickSight)
- Bash scripting & CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
- Payment domain knowledge (e-wallets, payment gateways, fintech)
- Performance tuning & scalable microservices architecture
