As a Software Engineer III - AWS Cloud Engineer + Java at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you'll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservice architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices.
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Support the products you've built through their entire life cycle, including production and incident management
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands on Java Development experience and excellent architecture knowledge.
- Capable of design solutions meeting scalability, reliability and security requirements.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Working hands on experience in AWS cloud platform.
- Understanding of relational databases and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment within a diverse, inclusive and geographically distributed team
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies and AWS/CKAD Certified
- Experience in Python is preferred
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Good writing skills, capable of producing supporting documentation and Good understanding of Microsoft Office suite - particularly MS Excel
- Understanding of messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
