3+ years experience

DB2, Oracle, MariaDB, MySQL, Postgres database

Experience with high availability constructs, including disaster recovery

Experience with Database installation and tuning for both transactional and data warehouse applications

Basic Linux skills

Knowledge of bash and other scripting languages

Ansible knowledge a plus

Knowledge of cloud operating models, including cloud provider RDS instances

Experience with AWS, Google, or Azure. Certifications are a plus

Detail JD
Experience with DB2, Oracle, MariaDB, MySQL, Postgres, Mongo

Deploy as standalone, containerized, or cloud instances

Ability to manage day to day operations of the database

Identify poor performing SQL

Identify and resolve database locks

Basic database operations including patching, maintenance, failovers and disaster recovery.

Backup and Restores

Tuning

Identify poor performance SQL

Suggest remediations for poor performance

Availability

Ensure availability of database

Interact directly with vendors for issue and ticket remediation

Respond to alerts as necessary

Manageability

Ability to do basic scripting to monitor / manage database performance

Reporting

Compliance

Ensure compliance of data

Encryption at rest

Encryption in transit

Access controls

Monitoring

Integration of Database performance data into monitoring

Establish and track alerting thresholds

Qualification

Bachelor of Technology/ Engineering
