How will you make an impact in this role.

As an Engineer II, you will be a hands-on engineer building highly available and scalable distributed system on the cloud that supports the company's long-term strategy and vision. Your primary responsibility is design and develop our next generation distributed transaction platform supporting Amex card transactions.

Key Initiatives:

  • Card Network Authorizations/Routing, Card Tokenization, Clearing and Settlement
  • Omni-channel platforms and partner connectivity management
  • Data Localization and Regulatory Compliance
  • ATM, Debit, Credit and Push Payment Transactions, Real Time Settlement
  • Platform Engineering and Foundational Capabilities of distributed systems
  • High Availability, Resiliency and Performance Engineering on Cloud

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs, develops, solves problems, debugs, evaluates, modifies, deploys, and documents software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.
  • You will constantly pursue and learn industry leading/innovative technologies and solutions. Be acutely aware of enabling technologies and open-source products to build low latency distributed systems.
  • Embrace a culture of innovation and experimentation, engage in fun and outcome-oriented culture, and always be ready to try new concepts without fear of failure.

Qualifications:

  • B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science or relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance platforms and microservices.
  • Strong proficiency in Golang and microservice architecture.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols - especially gRPC and REST.
  • Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-driven communication.
  • Working knowledge of Redis and other NoSQL technologies.
  • Familiar with unit testing frameworks and code quality tools (e.g., JUnit, Jest, Sonar).
  • Practical experience in CI/CD and cloud-native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS, etc.
  • Exposure to logging and monitoring tools like ELK, Splunk, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
  • Passion for clean, efficient code and continuous improvement.
  • Fast learner, adaptable to new technologies and evolving systems.
  • Strong communicator and collaborative team player.
