Role: Software Engineer Cloud Frontend - Software R&D (Sports Medicine)

We are seeking a dynamic Software Engineer Cloud Frontend to support R&D Software teams within the Sports Medicine Division. The Software Engineer Cloud Frontend is responsible for translating system design inputs into robust software requirements and architectures. The role includes planning, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software systems, collaborating cross-functionally with Systems Engineering, Design, Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory teams. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO, and other industry standards, writing specifications and design documents, conducting peer reviews, and contributing across the full product lifecycle.
What will you be doing
- Responsible for translating system design inputs into robust software system requirements and architectures.
- Leads software development planning, design, documentation, implementation, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Drives concept definition, analysis, and selection activities in partnership with Systems Engineering, Human Factors engineering, Marketing, and other functions.
- Work effectively cross-functionally with Technical Delivery Leader, Design & Usability, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and others to ensure inputs are considered and accounted for in the software system architecture.
- Perform design control functions to ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other industry standards.
- Take responsibility for writing product specifications and drafting design documents. Conduct technical peer reviews of software designs by other team members.
- Full product life cycle experience, preferably having contributed to products released to market.
What will you need to be successful
- Education: BS in Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent required
- MS or PhD in Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- Licenses/ Certifications: AWS Certified Developer is preferred.
- Experience: Should have a min 2 - 3 years of proven experience in building web applications using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript (Angular, React, or similar).
Competences: (must have)
- Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
- Expertise in integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience in using unit test frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, or similar.
- Experience working with agile development methodologies and exposure to working within CI/CD.
- Experienced with SDLC best practices and processes, including development infrastructure and tools like GitLab, JIRA, Jenkins, or similar.
- Skilled in writing software requirements and detailed design specifications.
- Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining complex software applications within AWS Cloud preferred.
- Detailed understanding of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, FDA, and MDR design control requirements for medical devices preferred.
