As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you'll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies-like machine learning and AI-to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled C# Developer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions for semiconductor equipment systems. The role involves working on high-performance applications that interface with complex hardware, ensuring reliability, scalability, and precision in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development:

    • Design and implement applications using C#
    • Develop user interfaces for equipment control and monitoring systems.
    • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Hardware Integration:

    • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with semiconductor equipment.
  • Performance & Reliability:

    • Optimize applications for real-time performance and high reliability.
    • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure system stability.
  • Collaboration & Documentation:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, and process engineers).
    • Prepare technical documentation for software modules and APIs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET
    • Experience with multithreading, asynchronous programming, and real-time systems.
    • Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Domain Knowledge:

    • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment control systems is a plus.
    • Experience in industrial automation or embedded systems preferred.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of machine vision, motion control, or PLC integration is an advantage.
