Software Engineer (Backend, 1-3 YOE)

Position Overview

We are a seed-funded startup focused on using state-of-the-art AI technologies to revolutionize the credit industry. Our team consists of experts in machine learning and software engineers who have worked at top-tier US tech companies like Apple, Amazon, etc , and we are passionate about using AI to improve access to credit information and due diligence for businesses. We have the product on the market, the first clients, and sufficient runway. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with a strong foundation in Python and experience in backend development and data processing. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of professional experience in software development, with a significant portion dedicated to Python programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Python. Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our data services.
• Data Processing: Develop and maintain processes for handling large datasets, including data collection, storage, transformation, and analysis.
• API Development: Design and implement APIs that enable seamless data retrieval and manipulation for frontend applications.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with other software systems and solutions within the company.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to improve system efficiency.
• Code Quality: Maintain high code standards, write clean, well-documented, and testable code, and contribute to code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience with a focus on Python.
• Proven track record of backend development and creating efficient data processing pipelines.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as data modeling techniques.
• Knowledge of software best practices, like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
