We exist to solve this. As Firi, we collect reviews on the internet from sources users already trust (Reddit and select Youtube channels) at scale. This means that we understand each product - who it works for and what it does - through thousands of reviews and full ingredient lists, instead of relying on one creator's opinion or marketing claims made by brands.

We use this intelligence to only stock the most repurchased beauty products in the world! And match them to users based on users past purchases, skin tones, skin types, age, gender, weather, skin conditions.. you get the gist.

About the role

This is a founding team role. As a Backend Developer, you'd be responsible for shaping Firi's tech products. You will work closely with Designers and Frontend developers to create seamless user experiences.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and implement ingestion pipelines to process data from the web, files, APIs, and other diverse sources
• Optimize database queries and caching layers for minimal latency
• Architect orchestration layers that coordinate multiple services with near-zero downtime
• Apply critical thinking to system design, balancing speed, cost, and maintainability

Qualifications

• 6-8 years in a full-stack or backend engineering role at a product company
• Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI
• Expert in PostgreSQL and Redis optimization
• Strong experience with Azure cloud services
• Worked with non-deterministic systems such as LLMs in production environments
• Designed and run systems for high-scale data ingestion, processing, and retrieval
