Job Summary
We are looking for a
Backend Engineer with strong experience in
Java and Spring Boot to design and build
scalable, reliable microservices. The role requires solid
backend system design skills, experience with
event-driven architectures using Kafka, and a strong focus on
test-driven development. You will work on distributed systems deployed on
Kubernetes using modern
CI/CD practices.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
- Design and develop microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Build RESTful APIs and asynchronous services using Kafka
- Ensure services meet requirements for performance, scalability, and reliability
System Design & Architecture
- Contribute to end-to-end backend system design
- Design services considering scalability, fault tolerance, and data consistency
- Apply clean architecture principles & standard design patterns,
- Participate in architecture and design discussions
Testing & DevOps
- Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) and write unit/integration tests
- Containerize services using Docker and deploy on Kubernetes
- Work with CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment
- Monitor and debug production issues
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Java (8+) and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven systems
- Strong understanding of backend system design and distributed systems
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
- Good knowledge of unit testing and TDD
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Nice to Have
- Spring Cloud, API Gateway, Service Discovery
- Observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
- Knowledge of API security (OAuth2, JWT)
