About The Role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Software Developer to join our team at Barclays in Pune. This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of Location Strategy projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Software Developer will play a critical role in transforming our digital landscape by harnessing advanced technologies to enhance customer experiences and drive innovation. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming expertise, particularly in Python, and demonstrate a collaborative spirit to work effectively with cross-functional teams including data analysts, engineers, and product managers. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in software development with a focus on Python programming. Experience with APIs, microservices architecture, and integrating AI models into enterprise systems is essential. Proficiency in data analysis libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, along with experience using file processing libraries for handling CSV, JSON, XML, and API data, is required. Familiarity with testing frameworks like pytest, version control tools such as GIT, and code quality tools like SonarQube is also necessary. Additional valued skills include experience with Jupyter Notebooks or similar data science environments, knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, and understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, Scrum, and project management tools like JIRA. Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in staying updated with industry trends and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data analysts, and other engineers to define requirements, develop strategies, and ensure seamless integration of solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, promote best practices in coding standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay informed of emerging industry trends, technological innovations, and best practices; actively contribute to the organization's technical communities to promote excellence.
- Implement secure coding practices to safeguard sensitive data, mitigate vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Develop and execute comprehensive unit testing to ensure code reliability, readability, and performance optimization.
- Manage structured and unstructured data files, including CSV, JSON, XML, and API data, to support various project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with data engineers and data analysts to support data-driven decision-making processes and project deliverables.
- Maintain documentation of technical specifications, processes, and code to facilitate knowledge transfer and future development efforts.
