Summary:
The EDI Engineer will serve as a key technical resource, partnering with Company business teams and external retailers to design, implement, and maintain end-to-end EDI integration solutions. This role requires a candidate who brings a strong combination of technical depth, analytical rigor, and cross-functional communication skills. The ability to coordinate effectively across both technical and business stakeholders is essential to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Development and upkeep of Company EDI specifications, message mapping, and supplier configurations.
- Authoring functional design documents and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Troubleshooting complex EDI failures and applying unit testing methodologies.
- Hands-on integration experience including custom map development, API development, and proficiency with XSD, REST, and SOAP-based services.
Requirements:
- 4 years of experience designing or architecting new and scalable systems, with demonstrated knowledge of design patterns, reliability principles, and system scaling.
- 4 years of hands-on experience with at least one EDI software platform, such as Gentran, Cleo, or Contivo.
- 4 years of experience with ANSI X12 standards, including transaction sets such as 850 (Purchase Order), 855 (Purchase Order Acknowledgment), and 856 (Advance Ship Notice).
- 4 years of experience with EDIFACT standards, including message types such as IFTMIN, INVOIC, and IFTSTA.
- 4 years of experience with EDI communication protocols, including AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS.
Required Skills:
- Experience with company's SEDI platform for at least one full EDI software implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and clear oral and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt effectively in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives with project-level discipline and accountability.
