Social Psychology Research Intern

Organization: Omysha Foundation

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months

About the Role

The Social Psychology Research Intern  will support Omysha Foundation's Research & Analysis Bureau by producing structured, high-quality research that informs strategy, partnerships, policy conversation and program design. 

This role is suited for individuals who enjoy deep thinking, synthesis, writing, and making sense of complex systems across AI governance, sustainability, mental well-being, public policy, and social impact.

A key focus area for this role will be research at the intersection of AI and mental well-being, with a strong emphasis on psychological and sociological implications of technology on individuals and society.

The individual will work closely with senior team members to translate research into usable insights for decision-making and external engagement.

This is not a passive research role. It requires intellectual ownership, clarity of thought, and comfort working on open-ended, high-responsibility problems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research & Analysis

  • Conduct primary and secondary research using policy documents, academic sources, reports, and credible data
  • Focus on AI in mental well-being, especially its psychological and sociological impact

2. Insight Development

  • Turn research into clear concept notes and insight documents
  • Create background papers and briefs for internal and external use
  • Support research-backed content for programs, partnerships, and events

3. Policy & Strategy Support

  • Assist in analysing policies related to AI's impact on society, work, and mental health
  • Provide evidence-based inputs for strategy development
  • Track key national and global policy trends

4. Program Support

  • Support research needs for A4G initiatives
  • Assist in developing frameworks, indicators, and evaluations
  • Contribute to reports and thought leadership outputs (including co-authoring where possible)
Who This Role Is For
  • Individuals from Sociology, Psychology, or related social science backgrounds
  • Strong curiosity in research, reading, writing, and analytical thinking
  • Interest in mental well-being, societal systems, and the human impact of AI and technology
  • Comfort with ambiguity and open-ended problem statements
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Prior research, policy, or analytical experience is a plus, not a requirement.

Basic understanding of research paradigms is expected.

No restriction on graduation year or batch.

Duration & Stipend

Duration: 6 Months

Time Commitment: Minimum 30 hours/week

Stipend Structure:

  • Months 1–2: ₹5,000/month
  • Months 3–4: ₹7,500/month (subject to performance rating ≥ 4/5)
  • Months 5–6: ₹10,000/month (subject to performance rating ≥ 4/5)
