Add captions, text overlays, transitions, and trending audio
Optimize videos for Instagram algorithm (hooks, pacing, retention)
Maintain consistent brand aesthetic and quality
Content Strategy (20% of role)
Monitor trending audio, formats, and editing styles in the niche
Suggest creative concepts and editing approaches
Analyze performance data to optimize editing style
Stay updated on Instagram features and best practices
Technical Workflow
Fast turnaround: 24-48 hours from receiving footage to final edit
Organize and manage raw footage library
Create templates and systems for efficiency
Collaborate directly with founder on content direction
Technical
Required Skills
Expert in CapCut, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro
Proficient in mobile editing apps (CapCut, InShot)
Basic graphic design (Canva, Photoshop)
Understanding of video formats, aspect ratios, compression
Creative
Strong sense of pacing and storytelling for short-form content
Ability to make talking head content engaging
Knowledge of what works on Instagram (not just technically skilled)
Understanding of B2B audience vs. entertainment content
