The role involves leading the social media team, ensuring timely publishing of news updates, optimizing content for reach and engagement, and maintaining editorial standards across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the social media team responsible for publishing news content.
- Ensure real-time posting of breaking news, updates, and stories across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
- Optimize headlines, captions, and thumbnails for maximum reach and engagement.
- Monitor social media trends and identify viral news opportunities.
- Track platform analytics and audience behavior to improve performance.
- Ensure all content follows editorial guidelines and brand voice.
- Manage audience interaction, comments, and public responses on social media.
- Guide the team in creating short video formats, reels, and news snippets suitable for social platforms.
- Stay updated with platform algorithm changes and social media trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, or related field.
- 36 years experience in social media management within news, media, or digital publishing.
- Strong understanding of news publishing workflows and digital journalism.
- Experience managing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment and handle breaking news situations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
