Job Description

The Social Media Marketing Account Manager is responsible for managing the company's

relationship with an external social media agency. This role serves as the point of contact between

the company and the agency, ensuring that social media strategies, content, and campaigns align

with brand guidelines, business objectives, and performance expectations.

The Account Manager oversees planning, approvals, performance tracking, and continuous

optimization while coordinating input from internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Agency & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary contact between the company and the external social media agency

Lead agency onboarding, briefings, and ongoing communications

Ensure clear translation of business goals, campaigns, and brand requirements to the agency

Coordinate internal stakeholder inputs (marketing, sales, product, leadership)

Manage feedback, revisions, approvals, and timelines

Strategy & Planning

Collaborate with the agency to develop and execute social media strategies aligned with

company objectives

Provide campaign briefs, priorities, and key messaging and take inputs from the internal

marketing teams

Review and approve content calendars, campaign plans, and platform recommendations

Ensure alignment with broader marketing, brand, and communication strategies

Content & Brand Oversight

Review agency-created content for brand voice, accuracy, compliance, and relevance

Ensure consistency with brand guidelines or create guidelines where not available

Approve posts, captions, visuals, and campaign materials before publishing

Monitor content performance and audience response

Campaign & Performance Management

Oversee organic and/or paid social campaigns executed by the agency

Track KPIs such as engagement, reach, traffic, conversions, and ROI

Review monthly and quarterly performance reports provided by the agency

Recommend adjustments based on performance and business priorities

Budget & Contract Oversight

Monitor agency scope of work and deliverables

Ensure adherence to budgets and contractual terms

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field

36 years of experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, or account

management

Strong understanding of major social media platforms and analytics

Experience managing campaigns, content calendars, and performance reporting

Key Skills & Competencies

Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills

Strong communication, briefing, and presentation abilities

Strategic thinking with attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple timelines and approvals

Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret performance reports

Confident decision-making and problem-solving
