Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and impact-driven Social Media Manager to support day-to-day digital content execution and community engagement. The role focuses on content creation, publishing, coordination, and engagement, helping bring real stories from the field to life across social platforms.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about social causes, enjoys storytelling, and wants hands-on exposure to NGO communications and digital advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day social media activities as per the approved content calendar
  • Create, edit, and publish posts for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube
  • Assist in storytelling by drafting captions, reels descriptions, and short narratives from field updates
  • Coordinate with program teams, field staff, and events teams to collect photos, videos, and impact stories
  • Support coverage of on-ground events, campaigns, and project activities (as required)
  • Engage with audiences by responding to comments, messages, and queries in a timely manner
  • Track basic performance metrics and assist in preparing weekly/monthly social media reports
  • Ensure brand tone, visual consistency, and ethical representation in all posts
  • Stay updated on social media trends, formats, and platform best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in social media handling or digital content execution
  • Hands-on experience managing organizational social media accounts
  • Good writing skills with the ability to draft clear, engaging, and empathetic captions
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and engagement metrics
  • Experience using Meta Business Suite, Canva, and scheduling tools
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and manage deadlines
  • Strong interest in social impact, development sector, or community work
  • Ethical storytelling mindset - sensitivity, dignity, and consent in representation
  • Willingness to work from office and support on-ground content collection
  • Ability to multitask and execute under timelines
  • Good command over English (knowledge of regional language is an advantage)
