Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune for to provide lead-level execution for all SMF social media and digital communication functions, including publishing, analytics, platform strategy support, CMS/website updates, digital asset management, and AI-enabled workflow improvement.
This role supports the Content Head and Content Specialist by ensuring that digital outputs are delivered accurately, on time, and in high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
(a) Social Media Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive and robust social media strategy, aligned with the Foundation's programmes, campaigns, and advocacy goals.
Plan weekly, monthly and quarterly content calendars in coordination with programme and technical support teams.
(b) Content Creation and Management:
Create compelling content (including text, visuals, short videos, infographics) in multiple languages (Hindi, English, Marathi etc.) highlighting programme impact, success stories, teacher engagement, student outcomes, and policy initiatives.
Manage the day-to-day posting across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) etc.
Ensure content is accurate, culturally sensitive, inclusive, and aligned with education-sector ethics and child protection norms.
(c) Community Engagement:
Routinely monitor and respond to comments, messages, and queries in a professional and timely manner.
Build and nurture an engaged online community comprising educators, volunteers, donors, government stakeholders, and supporters.
(d) Advocacy and Campaigns:
Support digital campaigns related to school education reforms, teacher capacity building, values-based quality education, student learning outcomes, and key national/international education days.
Collaborate with programme and technical support teams to translate on-ground initiatives into strong digital narratives.
(e) Analytics and Reporting:
Track platform performance using analytics tools and prepare periodic reports on reach, engagement, and growth over time.
Use insights from performance analytics to continuously refine content and strategy.
(f) Coordination and Compliance:
Coordinate with designers, videographers, and external agencies as required.
Adhere to the Foundation's brand guidelines, communication protocols, and requirements for donor visibility.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, Education, Marketing, or a related field.
Two to four years of experience managing social media for a non-profit, education initiative, CSR programme, or mission-driven organisation.
Demonstrated experience in content generation, curation and campaign management across multiple social media platforms.
Competencies and Skills:
Exceptional written communication skills in English; working knowledge of Hindi and Marathi is an advantage.
Ability to translate complex education and policy concepts into clear, engaging digital content.
Proficiency in social media tools and basic digital design/video platforms.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Sensitivity towards working with children, teachers, and diverse communities.
