Job Description:
- Machine Setup & Calibration:
- Set up and configure SMT machines (e.g., pick-and-place machines, soldering machines, inspection systems) for new production runs.
- Perform machine calibration and ensure proper placement of components on PCBs.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine maintenance on SMT machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions, production errors, or component placement.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished assemblies for defects, ensuring high standards of quality are met.
- Monitor production output for consistency and accuracy, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and industry standards.
- Production Monitoring:
- Oversee the SMT production line and monitor real-time progress, ensuring that all targets are met.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize production speed and accuracy as needed.
- Inventory & Parts Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory of SMT components and materials.
- Collaborate with purchasing teams to ensure that required parts and materials are available for production.
- Process Improvement:
- Provide feedback to engineers and management to improve assembly processes, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency.
- Participate in troubleshooting and developing solutions to improve the overall SMT process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SMT machinery, including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and soldering equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, technical documentation, and specifications.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Experience:
- Previous experience working with SMT assembly lines or in PCB manufacturing.
- Experience in soldering, component placement, and reflow soldering is often required.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork.
Work Environment:
- SMT Technicians typically work in a cleanroom or production floor environment within electronics manufacturing companies.
