Job Title: SRE FinOps Specialist Azure

Location: Gurugram

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SRE FinOps Specialist with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure costs while maintaining reliability and performance. This role bridges the gap between engineering, finance, and operations, ensuring efficient cloud usage and financial accountability across Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Reliability & Cloud Operations

• Monitor Azure infrastructure performance and usage across environments.
• Collaborate with SRE teams to integrate cost-efficiency into reliability engineering practices.
• Implement automation and observability tools to track cost and reliability metrics.

FinOps Responsibilities

• Analyze Azure cloud spend and usage patterns to identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Manage reserved instances, savings plans, and virtual machine sizing.
• Develop and enforce cost allocation models and chargeback mechanisms.
• Use Azure Cost Management and other tools to generate actionable insights.

Reporting & Analysis

• Build dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel to visualize cloud costs and trends.
• Present cost-performance analysis to stakeholders in simple, understandable terms.
• Track KPIs and scorecards related to cloud spend and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a liaison between engineering, finance, and procurement teams.
• Translate technical requirements into financial implications and vice versa.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions to promote FinOps best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Azure Portal, Azure Cost Management, and cloud-native services.
• Familiarity with SRE tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and cloud cost management platforms.

Financial & Analytical Skills

• Strong understanding of Azure pricing models and variable spend frameworks.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ability to build and interpret BI dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Organized and detail-oriented approach to projects.

Preferred Certifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or higher
• SRE or DevOps certifications (Google SRE, DevOpsSchool, etc.)
