Role Objective:
The Site Operations Lead / Site In-Charge will be responsible for leading and overseeing the overall functioning of the Roscommon manufacturing facility. The primary objective of this role is to establish a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence across the Ireland team while ensuring efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.
The role involves making strategic and operational decisions within the defined governance framework, ensuring cost-effective and timely execution of manufacturing activities, and aligning operational performance with the organization's business objectives.
The incumbent will act as the senior on-site leader responsible for operational governance, manufacturing execution, team management, regulatory compliance, and financial oversight.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience 1518 years of experience in leading manufacturing operations at a plant or site level, with accountability for production, warehouse, engineering, and overall operational performance in Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices or Healthcare sectors.
- Strong experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or healthcare manufacturing with a deep understanding of GMP / cGMP and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to drive manufacturing efficiency, productivity improvement, and cost optimization through continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence programs.
- Experience aligning production planning with demand forecasts, inventory management, and supply chain operations to ensure efficient order fulfilment and optimal stock levels.
- Experience managing site-level budgets, operational expenditure, cost controls, and financial reporting, with the ability to drive cost optimization while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and the ability to use operational data and KPIs to drive strategic and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Leadership & Governance
- Act as the Site In-Charge and operational leader for the Ireland entity.
- Serve as the Point of Effective Management for the Roscommon facility.
- Approve and authorize day-to-day managerial, operational, and commercial decisions.
- Act as an authorized signatory for contracts, statutory documents, audited financial statements, and vendor/service provider payments.
- Provide leadership and governance to ensure alignment with corporate policies and operational standards.
2. Manufacturing & Operations Management
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations including production, packing, and warehouse function, order execution.
- Ensure efficient workflows, operational discipline, and adherence to defined production timelines.
- Monitor operational KPIs to ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
3. Production Planning & Supply Chain Alignment
- Ensure production and packing plans are aligned with customer orders and demand forecasts.
- Maintain minimum stock levels across stocking points for the entire product portfolio.
- Work closely with the GM Supply Chain Management (SCM) to align production schedules with order execution and demand generation.
- Ensure smooth coordination between manufacturing, supply chain, and sales functions.
4. Team Leadership & Talent Management
- Directly manage the Operations, Production, and Warehouse teams.
- Lead workforce planning and critical hiring decisions for the site.
- Monitor employee performance and conduct quarterly KRA/performance reviews.
- Mentor and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Promote a strong culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration.
5. Site Administration & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee all site-related administrative activities including:
- Engineering and technical services
- Ensure companies other sites in Ireland related infrastructure management
- Building and facility maintenance
- Security and infrastructure management
- Plant-related expenses and resource utilization
- Ensure effective management and utilization of site infrastructure and resources.
6. Compliance, Quality & Audit Readiness
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, regulatory, safety, and HR policies.
- Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams to meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain continuous audit readiness for regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- Support regulatory compliance aligned with industry standards.
7. Financial Planning & Cost Optimization
- Prepare and manage the annual operational budget for the site.
- Monitor quarterly payment plans and operational expenditures against budget targets.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across manufacturing processes and product lines.
- Work with the finance team to ensure accurate costing, reporting, and SAP system updates.
