Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to oversee the end-to-end transformation of an existing building into a new functional use. This role is central to executing engineering plans, coordinating vendors, ensuring quality, and managing on-site activities within timelines and budgets.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building modification projects (retrofits, interior reworks, conversions) and is comfortable working across civil, MEP, and finishing scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execution & Technical Oversight
- Interpret and execute construction drawings (civil, architectural, structural, MEP, etc.)
- Supervise all on-site activities structural alterations, civil works, services, interior works, finishing.
- Coordinate closely with vendors, and consultants to ensure proper sequence and quality of work.
- Take measurements at site as per design requirements.
- Ensure work aligns with approved plans, schedules, and BOQs.
2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track daily progress; identify and escalate bottlenecks or delays.
- Maintain site logs, photographs, daily labor reports, and material checklists.
- Prepare regular status updates for stakeholders.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all works are executed as per standards.
- Conduct routine quality checks and inspections (for workmanship, alignment, finishes).
- Assist in handling approvals and inspections from local authorities if applicable.
4. Site Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate cross-functional activities between civil, MEP, finishing, and vendor teams.
- Serve as the site point-of-contact for consultants, architects, and client-side teams.
- Manage site meetings and briefings as required.
- Manage multiple sites at the same time and flexible to move across locations.
5. Safety & Risk Management
- Enforce site safety norms.
- Identify potential risks or hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
6. Material & Vendor Management
- Verify materials delivered on site for quality and quantity.
- Raise material requests and ensure timely availability of required items.
- Liaise with procurement and suppliers for timelines and specifications.
