Site Civil Engineer

The company has extensive experience in the execution of substations and associated infrastructure for renewable power projects, including pooling substations and evacuation facilities. Civil works form an integral part of these projects, covering equipment foundations, transformer foundations, control room and other building works, cable trenches, roads, drainage, fencing, equipment support structures, and other associated substation infrastructure.

The Site Civil Engineer will be responsible for the on-site execution and supervision of civil works associated with pooling substations and other power infrastructure projects in Tamil Nadu. The role will primarily involve planning, coordinating, and monitoring civil construction activities to ensure that works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Key responsibilities will include supervision of equipment and structural foundations, transformer foundations, control room and building works, cable trenches, roads, drainage, fencing, and other associated substation civil works.

The Site Civil Engineer will be required to understand and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and related engineering drawings and coordinate with the project, design, planning, electrical, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth execution at site. The position will also involve coordination with civil contractors, vendors, consultants, and client representatives for timely resolution of technical and execution-related issues.

The engineer is expected to undertake well-ahead planning of civil works, identify material, manpower, equipment, drawing, and vendor requirements in advance, and coordinate their availability to avoid delays in project execution. Responsibilities will also include monitoring daily progress, verifying measurements, maintaining site records, preparing progress reports, conducting site inspections, and supporting quality and safety compliance.

The role is site-based and requires the candidate to be willing to work at project locations across Tamil Nadu based on project requirements.

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of civil construction and execution, particularly for substations, power projects, and industrial infrastructure.
• Practical experience in execution and supervision of equipment foundations, transformer foundations, structural foundations, cable trenches, buildings, roads, drainage, fencing, and other substation civil works.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and construction drawings and translate them into site execution activities.
• Strong planning and coordination skills, with the ability to plan civil activities well in advance and identify requirements for materials, manpower, equipment, drawings, and subcontractors.
• Experience in coordinating with civil contractors, vendors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to monitor daily site progress and ensure execution is aligned with the approved project schedule.
• Ability to carry out site inspections, quantity measurements, work verification, and preparation of site documentation and progress reports.
• Knowledge of relevant civil engineering codes, construction practices, quality standards, and site safety requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook, for planning, reporting, documentation, and project coordination.
• Ability to identify site-related technical and execution issues and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
• Willingness to work at project sites across Tamil Nadu as required by the project.
• Prior experience in substation, power, renewable energy, industrial, or other infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
