We're launching a new YouTube channel about money. You'd be the short-form editor defining how it shows up on Shorts, Reels, and TikTok.
THE WORK
- Edit 20-25 original 9:16 shorts a month (30-60 seconds each) from scripts and footage provided by the team
- Own the first 1.5 seconds of every short. The hook is where it's won or lost
- Reframe and compose for 9:16: framing, crops, and punch-ins that feel intentional
- Design motion graphics, animation, and on-screen elements: data callouts, numbers, lower thirds, text treatments, and any custom visuals
- Handle typography, safe areas, and legibility for mobile viewing
- Color grade each short for a consistent visual identity across the feed
- Design sound, music, and pacing that carry the viewer through the full 30-60 seconds
- Deliver SRT and burned-in captions with every short
THE TONE
Think Humphrey Yang, not hype-driven finance content. We're aiming for 20-25 shorts a month, and we'd rather hold one back than ship something that isn't working.
WHO YOU ARE
- 2+ years editing short-form vertical content for Shorts, Reels, or TikTok
- Portfolio includes a creator or channel at 50k+ followers
- Fluent in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut Pro
- Comfortable designing motion graphics and animation in After Effects or equivalent
- Strong eye for color, typography, and composition on a small screen
- You can articulate why a hook works, not just that it does
- You've watched your own shorts in scroll context and tuned them accordingly
- You have clear opinions about when a zoom punch helps and when it's filler
Bonus: prior work on finance, business, or educational shorts. Experience editing for US audiences.
