About DROPZ
DROPZ is India's first true limited-edition platform, a culture-forward destination where every product drop is rare, intentional, and never restocked. We aren't just building a brand; we're building a platform that curates stories through exclusive in-house drops, creator collaborations, and collectible releases across fashion, lifestyle, and beyond. Every drop is a moment, but the platform is the big picture and our brand must ignite cultural hype.
As a Short-form Editor, you will own retention-first edits that make DROPZ feel sharp, collectible, and culturally alive across Reels, and Shorts formats. This is a 0 to 100 role for someone who ships with daily intensity, takes accountability for outcomes, and keeps raising the creative ceiling through taste, speed, and clean execution, while building culture through how you work with the team.
What You'll Do
- Edit raw footage into retention-first short-form videos with strong hooks, crisp pacing, and platform-native structure, delivering publish-ready cuts that feel premium, on-trend, and unmistakably DROPZ.
- Build hook-first openers for every asset, creating and testing multiple first 1 to 2 second patterns, then selecting the best options based on watch behavior and creative intent before final exports.
- Develop a consistent weekly pipeline across product reveals, drop teasers, creator collabs, BTS, meme and trend remixes, and UGC-style cuts, ensuring outputs match drop priorities and maintain a consistent taste bar.
- Create rapid, high-quality variants for performance testing, including alternate hooks, multiple durations, different CTAs, and caption approaches, while keeping each version fully publishable with clean audio and finishing.
- Add platform-native finishing layers like captions, kinetic text, subtle motion graphics, transitions, sound design, and music selection, making every edit feel native and high energy, not cluttered or overproduced.
- Own technical and operational hygiene across timelines, naming conventions, exports, aspect ratios, safe zones, and version tracking, reducing rework and making handoffs frictionless for content, social, and marketing teams.
- Collaborate daily with content, social, and marketing stakeholders to clarify intent, audience, and drop narrative, then translate direction into edits that match the brief while improving structure, payoff, and clarity.
- Build repeatable editing systems, including caption presets, sound stacks, template packs, and reusable timelines, improving speed and consistency without turning content into formula output.
- Run performance review loops using platform analytics and internal feedback, capturing learnings in clear notes and applying them to the next round of edits to improve hook clarity, pacing, and viewer payoff.
- Maintain a high quality bar on subtitles, audio levels, cut rhythm, continuity, and brand consistency, catching issues before publish and delivering clean first cuts that earn trust and reduce iteration cycles.
Who You Are
- You have 12 to 24 months of hands-on short-form editing experience, and you can show a portfolio where hooks, pacing, and payoff are clearly intentional across multiple formats and creative directions.
- You understand retention as a craft, and you can redesign structure to hold attention, using story flow, pattern breaks, and visual sequencing rather than relying on effects to save weak edits.
- You ship fast without breaking quality, and you treat iteration as a normal part of the workflow, delivering multiple polished variants that still feel intentional and taste-led.
- You have strong fundamentals in captions, kinetic text, transitions, sound design, and music choice, and you know how to keep edits clean, legible, and premium on mobile screens.
- You can own a brief end to end, pulling selects, building a narrative arc, solving pacing problems, exporting correctly, and delivering on time without needing constant follow-ups or reminders.
- You communicate clearly in feedback loops, you can explain your edit decisions, and you take notes with a team-first, low friction collaborator mindset focused on the best outcome.
- You stay close to platform trends and creator formats, and you can adapt trend mechanics into DROPZ content with taste and restraint, avoiding copy-paste energy that dilutes brand identity.
- You are organized with assets and versions, keeping projects structured so anyone can find the latest cut, trace decisions, and move fast across approvals and publish workflows.
- You thrive in a 0 to 100 startup pace, bringing daily intensity and ownership, because you are here to build long term and raise the brand through consistent outcomes, not just tasks.
- You act as a positive culture builder, raising standards through reliability, curiosity, and respect for teammates, and helping the team stay ambitious, aligned, and proud of what ships.
