Job Purpose Description
Union is internal without any affiliation to external agency and historically dominated by militant workforce.
Most of the workmen are from local areas and literacy level is low.
New challenges for cultural change on implementation of multifunctioning / multiskilling as a part of recently concluded LTA / changes in business scenario.
Ongoing changes in labour laws & volatile political scenario has put in various challenges in managing contract labour.
High cost labour being closed to industrial city.
To be a change agent in bringing cultural change for creating business oriented workforce.
Facilitating flexible work culture to align with changing customer requirements.
Retaining and enhancing technical skills through continuous education and training.
Low educational standards among the employees make it difficult to change the mindset of employees to adopt new and flexible ways of working.

| KRA1 | Accountability:Long Term Settlement | To assist Unit Head and HR Head in negotiation and implementation of long-term agreements with the bargainable workforce so as to contain the employment cost. |
| KRA2 | Industrial Relations | Ensure timely redressal of shopfloor IR issues through discussions with line managers & union official. Support line managers in maintaining discipline on shopfloor. Reduction of absenteeism & control on O.T. Monitor & support implementation of delieverables of settlement of LTA to ensure increase in productivity. Identify & implement change management initiatives in coordination with line managers under guidance of AVP-HR. Handling labour disputes depending before various forum in coordination with legal department / advocates |
| KRA3 | Personal / Welfare | Ensuring timely compliance of all statutory requirements under various laws such as Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, Contract Labour Act, .P.F., etc. Administration of personal record of the unionized employees. Organising various cultural programmes in plant as well as in colony. Administration of personnel policies and welfare facilities such as canteen, guest house, colony, etc. |

| KRA5 | Public Relations | Liasioning with various Statutory authorities. To ensure that effective relationship with statutory authorities and adjoining communities are maintained for the smooth operation of the plant. |
| KRA6 | WCM Activity | To co-ordinate the WCM activities in the department, to facilitate in implementing QCDIP targets. Participate in various activities such as community development, employee satisfaction survey, etc with other colleagues. |
