Senior ServiceNow Platform/ Solution Architect
Job Summary: To execute the technical cleanup and stabilization of a degraded
ServiceNow environment.responsible for the hands-on-keyboard
correction of Discovery failures, CMDB data corruption, and
infrastructure visibility gaps. The goal is to move the environment
from a data gap state to a high-health, reliable baseline.
Key Responsibilities
- Duplicate Remediation: Identify and resolve duplicate CI
records using the Duplicate Remediator and custom
background scripts.
- IRE Configuration: Tune and fix Identification and
Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules to prevent data
flapping between multiple sources.
- Staleness Management: Implement and execute
archival or deletion strategies for stale CIs that haven't
been updated by Discovery in 60-90+ days.
- Orphaned CI Cleanup: Identify and reconnect (or retire)
orphaned CIs that have lost their relationships to parent
services.
- Health Dashboard Optimization: Configure and monitor
CMDB Health Dashboards (Completeness, Compliance,
Correctness) to track cleanup progress.
- Credential Management: Audit and fix failing credentials
(SNMP, SSH, WMI) across the global infrastructure to
increase Discovery success rates.
- Event Noise Reduction: Audit and rewrite Event Rules
to filter out monitoring storms and ensure only
actionable alerts reach the console.
- Alert Management Rules
- Monitoring Integration
- Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB,
Discovery, Service Mapping, and IRE.
- Expertise in CI classification, identification patterns, and
reconciliation logic.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL Configuration Management,
Change, and Incident Management processes.
- Proven leadership experience managing CMDB or
ServiceNow teams.
- Experience in scripting and automation in ServiceNow
(GlideScript, Business Rules, Script Includes).
Certifications Mandatory
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist
CMDB.
