Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Delivery & Operations
    • Manage end-to-end database service lifecycle, including incident, problem, and change management.
    • Ensure compliance with SLAs and service quality standards.
    • Monitor database performance and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Database Management
    • Oversee administration of enterprise databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
    • Coordinate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
    • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for database-related service issues.
    • Liaise with vendors for support, upgrades, and licensing.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze service metrics and implement process improvements.
    • Drive automation initiatives for database operations.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and mentor database administrators and support staff.
    • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration and service management.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and service management tools.
  • Expertise in database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Foundation or higher.
  • Database certifications (Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.).
