Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven and technically strong
Cybersecurity Engineer to support the design, deployment, and management of secure business process solutions across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in
cloud infrastructure and application security, a background in
application development, and proficiency with
security tools and platforms used in managed service environments.
You will collaborate closely with IBM's cloud, operations, and transformation teams to enhance the
security posture of client operations, ensuring compliance, resilience, and trust at scale.
Your Role And Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure Security
- Implement and maintain security controls across multi-cloud environments (experience in at least two: IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud).
- Support security posture management through tools like CSPM and CNAPP, ensuring visibility, compliance, and continuous monitoring.
- Integrate and operationalize SIEM and SOAR solutions as part of managed business operations engagements.
- Support the DevSecOps model by embedding security automation into deployment pipelines and operations workflows.
- Participate in designing secure architectures for internal and external clients aligned with IBM and industry best practices.
Application Security & Development
- Collaborate with development and automation teams to ensure secure coding and secure integration within applications supporting business processes.
- Review application code (Python, Java, JavaScript, or equivalent) for vulnerabilities and design security improvements.
- Integrate application security tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) within delivery pipelines used by automation and operations teams.
- Support modernization initiatives by enabling secure APIs, containers, and microservices on hybrid cloud environments.
- Prior knowledge of AI Based automation ( Agentic , Generative ) would be preferred
Security Tools Integration & Operations
- Deploy and manage cloud-native and third-party security tools such as CNAPP, SIEM, WAF, IAM, PAM, and EDR solutions for IBM managed cloud environments.
- Work closely with IBM's Security Operations and Managed Services teams to integrate application data flows into central monitoring systems.
- Provide ongoing support for threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management activities.
- Ensure scalability and operational reliability of deployed security tools in IBM managed engagements.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure alignment with client and IBM security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, CIS Benchmarks).
- Participate in compliance audits and remediation projects as part of managed business operations contracts.
- Assist in maintaining documentation, playbooks, and process controls to ensure operational transparency and consistency.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to identify and mitigate potential business operation risks through proactive controls.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- 35 years of experience in cybersecurity roles across classic infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience in securing workloads across two or more major cloud providers (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud).
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Java, PowerShell, or Bash) with ability to understand mid-level code logic.
- Knowledge of modern security tooling ecosystems (e.g., CNAPP, CSPM, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IAM, PAM, WAF).
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
- Experience working in operational or managed services environments with SLAs and compliance commitments.
- Strong understanding of network security, identity management, encryption, and API security.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Industry certifications: CCSP, CISSP, CEH, IBM Cloud Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent preferred
- Consulting or client-facing experience, preferably within a managed business operations or transformation environment.
- Understanding of automation and AI-enabled operations, aligned with IBM's Cognitive Enterprise framework.
