Essential Job Functions:
Distributed Engineering infra includes servers, storage, backup, Operating systems and application software, VMware, Infoblox, SAN Switches etc.
Following ITSM framework for Incident Management, Change Management and Problem management
Will be responsible for all new builds, re-builds, configuration & re-configuration related to distributed engineering infra*
Server, SAN, NAS, VMware, backup devices health monitoring in terms of Disk space, CPU & Memory utilization leading to the proactive alarm to take the corrective action
Mail/Incident management: Day to day mail/incident related activities like ID recertification, password reset, mailbox quota management, Mail queue monitoring, policy related issues, printer access issue etc.
Back-up and restoration management: Management and report out of Daily/weekly Backups as per laid down backup policy with periodic restoration drill.
Virtual Infra Management: Management of virtual infra with respect to creation of datastores, allocation of resources, periodic upgrades, virtual infra enhancements
Storage Management - Management of SAN and NAS storage environment that includes provision of LUNs, SAN switch zoning, end to end management of storage connectivity, real time monitoring of storage related issues.
Anti-virus management: Export daily report and get all the affected systems cleaned up. Management of desktop database on Antivirus console including regular virus sweep. Ensure server-side AV patches update.
Patch management: Will ensure all the patches & hot fixes are properly installed over the LAN including servers with regular cross verification using available tools.
File Server Optimization: Cyclic content audits to ensure no unwanted stuff is stored with regular housekeeping according to the policies.
Server ID creation/deletion, password reset.
AD, DNS & DHCP monitoring & management to ensure regular reconciliation with additional configurations as and when required
Infra Monitoring, Server Hardening and Vulnerability Management as per Client standards
Vendor coordination for any hardware / software related issues.
Check and coordinate with vendors to upgrade Firmware and code upgrade of all hardware including servers, backup, storage, SAN switches etc.
Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and as required for distributed engineering infra*.
Supporting Desktop team on issues in which they need support to further troubleshoot issues
Maintaining Server domain Asset Inventory including hardware/OS/Application software installed with their warranty/AMC details and keeping it updated.
To create and monitor home/share drives as per business request as and when required.
Coordination with Stateside/US team/stakeholders for any support related to server services being managed by them and to provide information/logs for further troubleshooting with OEM/US team.
Timely communication with latest updates to all relevant stakeholders and to keep them updated on impacting services till closure.
To track periodic activities in server domain and complete as per frequency defined
Maintaining updated details and escalation matrix for all relevant vendors/US team/stakeholder for further coordination for support
Maintaining KEDB along with updated SOPs and documentation for Server Infra technology
To assist and provide required evidence during internal and external audits.
Maintain records of all vendors calls and supporting vendor/OEMs during new installation/troubleshooting issues.
Validating and providing information related to existing/newly procured domain assets as and when needed to asset Team
