Server Engineer (Linux & Networking)
We are looking for a skilled Server Engineer with hands-on experience in
Dell and HPE servers, Linux operating systems, and networking fundamentals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing server infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
Requirements
- Install, configure, and maintain Dell (PowerEdge) and HPE (ProLiant) servers
- Manage and administer Linux-based systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network-related issues
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups
- Configure and manage RAID, storage, and server components
- Work with tools like iDRAC (Dell) and iLO (HPE) for server management
- Collaborate with networking teams for connectivity, firewall, and routing issues
- Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices
- Travel to client/data center locations as required for deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
What we Expect from you
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in server administration
- Strong experience with Dell and/or HPE servers
- Good knowledge of Linux system administration
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing)
- Experience with server monitoring tools and logs
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware / KVM) is a plus
- Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, Python) is an advantage
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel based on project requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or B.Tech (or equivalent)
- Certifications like RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or equivalent
- Experience with data center operations
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proactive and detail-oriented
