Job Description: SEO Manager
Experience Required: Minimum 4-5 years in SEO (mandatory experience on at least one e-commerce website)
Department: Performance / SEO
Location: Mumbai Lower Parel (Schbang Office)
Reporting To: SEO Head SEO Group Head SEO Manager
Secondary Reporting: VP Account Manager
Role Expectation
To lead and scale SEO efforts across brands while aligning performance outcomes with business and brand objectives. The role requires setting high SEO standards internally and contributing to industry-level best practices.
Key Responsibilities
On-Page & Strategy
- Plan, implement, manage, and monitor client SERP performance
- Analyse data and create monthly SEO strategies; present plans to internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct regular SEO audits and troubleshoot technical and SERP-related issues
- Ensure websites and platforms follow SEO best practices
- Improve website user experience in alignment with brand and SEO strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align SEO with overall brand goals
- Drive organic traffic growth and ranking improvements
- Track competitor performance and stay updated with SEO industry trends
- Plan and track promotional campaigns from an SEO perspective
- Oversee execution quality and timelines of SEO team members
- Manage team P&L
Off-Page SEO
- Conduct competitor backlink analysis
- Maintain link trackers and anchor text documentation
- Identify, reach out to, and follow up with relevant webmasters/authors
- Negotiate and close backlink opportunities
- Build and maintain a strong database of niche-specific webmaster contacts
Technical SEO
- Identify, analyse, and resolve technical SEO issues
- Work closely with developers to implement technical fixes
- Read, understand, and interpret website events and code for SEO optimisation
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure execution teams receive clear client briefs and deliver work on time
- Oversee creation of pitch decks and contribute to internal training initiatives
- Guide and mentor executives to meet Schbang quality standards
- Resolve team conflicts and ensure smooth collaboration
KPIs & Ownership
- Minimum 2 SEO case studies demonstrating business impact (max 1 per brand)
- At least 4 Instagram / LinkedIn carousel features highlighting SEO wins (max 2 per brand)
- Participation in 2 external website awards
- Conduct 16 internal trainings annually
- Track and meet defined annual SEO targets
