The business focuses on building strong supply depth, competitive pricing, and a high quality booking experience, making it a critical driver of both customer satisfaction and overall organizational growth.
Within this ecosystem, the Hotels Performance Marketing function plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the growth agenda. Working closely with Revenue and Category stakeholders, it drives incremental volumes that contribute meaningfully to both topline and bottom-line performance.
With a strong consumer-first lens, the function deeply analyses traveler behavior, identifies growth opportunities, and builds strategies for both new user acquisition and retention. It also collaborates extensively with Hotels Product and Technology to influence feature development, enhance channel efficiency, and unlock scalable, sustainable growth across all performance marketing channels.
About The Role
The incumbent will be responsible for driving organic discoverability across MakeMyTrip's website and app ecosystem. The role will focus on designing crawl-friendly, index-efficient site architectures, improving Core Web Vitals, and scaling SEO across millions of product and listing pages, including faceted navigation and dynamic content.
This position combines deep hands-on technical SEO expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Content teams to embed SEO into platform and growth initiatives.
What Will You Be Doing
- Targets & Growth: Own organic performance targets and drive sustainable growth through clear strategic planning and disciplined execution.
- Technical Architecture & Indexation: Design and govern scalable site architecture across category, sub-category, collection, and detail pages. Implement and manage canonicalization, pagination, hreflang, and parameter handling for faceted navigation. Drive optimal use of robots directives, meta tags, XML sitemaps, sitemap index files, and dynamic or server-side rendering where required.
- Core Web Vitals Performance: Partner closely with Engineering to improve LCP, INP, and CLS by influencing critical CSS, image optimization, CDN caching, lazy loading, and hydration strategiesenhancing both search rankings and conversion outcomes.
- Structured Data & Rich Results: Own the schema markup strategy (including Product, Offer, Breadcrumb, and FAQ where applicable). Validate implementations at scale, monitor errors and warnings, and define rich-result win-rate KPIs.
- International & App SEO: Lead the hreflang matrix and geo-targeting strategy. Manage Android App Links, iOS Universal Links, web-to-app deep linking, and SEO considerations for Progressive Web Apps (PWA).
- Content Systems & Quality: Define technical guardrails for programmatic content, internal linking, and page templates. Establish controls to manage duplication and thin content, and partner with stakeholders on UGC quality and moderation signals.
- Experimentation & Measurement: Run SEO-led experiments, including A/B tests and holdouts. Quantify impact on organic sessions, orders, revenue, and shopper metrics, and establish robust causal attribution frameworks.
- Governance & Tooling: Own and evolve the SEO tooling stack, including crawlers, log analyzers, rank tracking platforms, and Core Web Vitals monitoring tools.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Translate SEO opportunities into clear product epics, influence quarterly roadmaps, and upskill Product and Engineering teams on technical SEO best practices.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's in computer science/engineering from a reputed institute with 810 years of hands-on SEO experience, demonstrating a strong track record of driving substantial organic traffic growth and successfully managing SEO for e-commerce platforms.
- Proven success improving Core Web Vitals and index coverage for dynamic, template-driven websites.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript SEO, including Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR), and Client-Side Rendering (CSR) trade-offs, rendering diagnostics, and search crawler behaviour.
- Advanced understanding of faceted navigation, canonicalization and pagination strategies, and URL parameter management.
- Hands-on experience with structured data implementation and validation, log-file analysis, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and enterprise crawler tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, Deepcrawl, Oncrawl).
- Strong analytics capabilities, including SQL or big-data tools for cohort analysis and experiment design, with comfort using business intelligence (BI) dashboards.
- Experience managing multi-country and multilingual SEO strategies, including app deep-linking ecosystems.
- Background in Progressive Web App (PWA) SEO, Content Delivery Network (CDN) optimization, image delivery pipelines, and performance engineering.
- Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM)related content-blocking strategies and bot management, including rate limiting and firewall rules.
- Exposure to travel, hospitality, or other highstock keeping unit (SKU) commerce verticals.
