Job Purpose
We are looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to lead the architecture and development of complex WordPress projects. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with
Gutenberg block development, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and scalable WordPress solutions that go beyond basic theme/plugin work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of custom Gutenberg blocks and dynamic patterns.
- Build and maintain custom themes and plugins tailored to product needs (no reliance on low-quality prebuilt themes).
- Architect WordPress solutions for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Optimize Core Web Vitals and overall site performance across projects.
- Integrate with REST APIs and third-party systems as needed (CRM, eCommerce endpoints, etc.).
- Mentor junior developers and define development standards and workflows.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce quality practices, and contribute to technical direction.
- Collaborate with design, UX/content, and product stakeholders to align project objectives
Qualifications And Experiences
- 5 7 years of professional WordPress development with progressive responsibility.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical decisions or project delivery.
- Portfolio of high-impact WordPress projects or contributions.
- Comfortable guiding cross-team technical discussions and scoping complex features.
Must-Haves Expertise
- Gutenberg block development with modern tooling and patterns.
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), including flexible content architectures.
- Experience building entirely custom WordPress themes & plugins from scratch.
- Proven experience optimizing performance and user experience for higher traffic sites.
- REST API integration and data handling in WordPress contexts.
- Git-based workflows and modern development toolchains (build tools, environment automation).
Preferred Skills
- Deep experience with WooCommerce architecture & custom extensions.
- Familiarity with headless/decoupled WordPress patterns (e.g., WP + React/Next.js).
- Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or container-based workflows.
- Prior experience in performance benchmarking and Core Web Vitals tuning.
