Job Description

Job Summary

This position, under general supervision, administers day-to-day operations of Microsoft Windows servers and related applications. The role provides integrated support and maintenance of Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and network-based applications including Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Active Directory.

The position is responsible for setting up and configuring Intel server platforms with Overhead Doorapproved software and serves as third-level support for servers and corporate applications that the IT Service Desk cannot resolve. The role also evaluates new hardware, operating systems, and related standards, and works with external vendors to obtain technical specifications for hardware and operating system solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support for Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and VMware environments.
  • Provide support for Network Attached Storage (NAS).
  • Manage VMware vCenter environments supporting nearly 500+ virtual servers across multiple physical environments.
  • Identify and resolve network hardware and software-related failures and issues, ensuring network and business continuity.
  • Administer and enhance a Windows Server 2012 Active Directory environment.
  • Manage and maintain internal and/or external DNS, DHCP, and WINS services.
  • Develop, deploy, and administer Active Directory domain infrastructure, including Sites, Services, routing topology, Group Policy Object (GPO) design, and Organizational Unit (OU) structure.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with routing, switching, subnetting, and bridging across LAN, WAN, and VPN environments, including access methods and network topologies.
  • Upgrade software components and install operating system upgrades as required.
  • Monitor network and system performance, recommend improvements, and implement approved adjustments.
  • Provide third-level technical support to end users.
  • Implement system and network changes in a controlled manner in adherence to company change control policies.
  • Document network and system diagrams, process flow diagrams, and backup and recovery procedures.
  • Maintain punctuality and readiness to work during regularly scheduled hours as an essential function of the role.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Five to ten years of experience in a large-scale, team-oriented Microsoft Windows environment, including Windows Server 2003 through 2022, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and VMware.
  • Five to ten years of experience managing a complex Active Directory environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent, or
  • Six years of related experience in server hardware, operating systems, and Active Directory, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

Additional Skills (Nice To Have)

  • Knowledge of Office 365 and Azure Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of Cisco WebEx platform management.
