Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Video Editor Lead to supervise and guide our video editing team in creating high-quality academic and studio-based video content. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent creative judgement, and advanced expertise in post-production workflows. This role involves managing editors, coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely project delivery, and maintaining production quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of video editors, animators, and motion graphic designers.
- Review team output, provide feedback, and ensure quality consistency across all deliverables.
- Plan and allocate workloads, track deadlines, and optimize team productivity.
- Conduct training sessions on editing techniques, tools, and internal workflows.
Project & Process Management
- Oversee the full post-production pipeline including editing, color correction, sound, motion graphics, and final delivery.
- Collaborate with content, production, academic, and design teams to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Implement and enhance standardized editing processes, templates, and naming conventions.
- Maintain an organized asset management and backup system.
Creative & Technical Expertise
- Provide creative direction and suggestions to improve visual storytelling, pacing, audio balance, transitions, and graphical elements.
- Ensure all videos adhere to brand and academic content guidelines.
- Stay updated with industry trends, editing tools, AI-based enhancements, and new software workflows.
Quality & Delivery
- Conduct QC checks before final exports.
- Ensure high-quality output for different platforms (web LMS, YouTube, studio content, microlearning, promos, reels, marketing clips).
- Troubleshoot technical or workflow challenges and recommend creative solutions.
