Job Role

We are looking for a UI/UX Digital Product Designer to join our Product & Engineering team. This is a foundational design hire - a dedicated product designer embedded within the core team. You will own the end-to-end design process: from early discovery and user research through wireframes, interaction design, high-fidelity UI, and engineering handover. You will work closely with our product and engineering leads to build the design rituals, systems, and standards that will shape the product for years to come.

This role is not for someone looking to execute polished UI on well-defined briefs. It's for a builder: someone who can think in flows and systems, partner with engineering seamlessly, and create structure. Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Research

- Own the design discovery process - working with the product and CS team to surface user pain points, map jobs-to-be-done, and identify the highest-leverage areas to improve

- Conduct structured and informal user research; translate insights into actionable design briefs

- Audit existing product flows to identify UX gaps, friction points, and drop-off patterns

Design Execution

- Design end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI across the platform

- Maintain a consistent design language; build and evolve a component library and design system in Figma

Engineering Collaboration

- Own the design-to-engineering handover process: annotated Figma specs, interaction notes, and component logic so engineers have everything they need to build without guessing

- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and backlog grooming to flag design dependencies early and align on priorities

- Establish and run design discovery and design handover ceremonies

Product & Stakeholder Alignment

- Work closely with the product team to translate CS feedback, user insights, and business goals into design briefs and prioritized design work

- Collaborate with engineering to ensure design feasibility and realistic sprint capacity

- Contribute to the product roadmap by bringing a user-centered lens to prioritization conversations

- Apply a clear triage mindset: distinguish between critical UX bugs that need immediate resolution vs. feature improvements that can be planned into the roadmap

Required Qualifications

- 3-5 years of experience as a UI/UX or Product Designer, ideally in a B2B SaaS, marketplace, or platform product environment

- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work from research and wireframes through to shipped, high-fidelity UI

- Proficiency in Figma (design, prototyping, component libraries, and developer handover)

- Solid UX fundamentals: information architecture, user flows, interaction design, and usability principles

- Experience working directly with engineering teams in an agile/sprint environment

- Comfortable operating in ambiguity - you can define your own brief, prioritize your own work, and move without being told what to do next

- Strong communication skills; able to articulate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Experience building or contributing to a design system or component library

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a startup or early-stage product team where you helped establish design practices from scratch

- Familiarity with two-sided marketplace products or platform businesses

- Understanding of basic front-end constraints (HTML/CSS awareness)

- Experience with UX research methods: usability testing, user interviews, surveys, analytics interpretation
