About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Product / UI-UX Designer who can take a problem from ambiguity to a shipped, well-crafted solution — and do it with minimal handholding. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role on a delivery-focused design team, working across enterprise and product engagements alongside product managers, engineers, and client stakeholders.
The defining trait we are hiring for is ownership. We want someone who picks up a brief, drives it end-to-end, keeps their lead aligned at the right moments, and surfaces progress and blockers without being chased. You will be trusted with real responsibility early; in return, we expect you to run with it. If you do your best work when you are given a clear goal and the room to solve it, you will fit well here.
This is not a role for someone who waits to be told the next step. It is a role for someone who owns the outcome.
What You'll Own
Your responsibilities will span the full product design lifecycle:
- Drive design end-to-end: from problem framing and research through wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototypes, and design QA at handoff, owning the quality of what ships.
- Connect design to business outcomes: frame design decisions in terms of user needs and business metrics such as conversion, retention, activation, and churn, not aesthetics alone.
- Build and scale design systems: create, maintain, and extend reusable Figma component libraries that keep our work visually consistent and make engineering handoff clean and predictable.
- Run and synthesise research: plan and conduct usability sessions and user testing, then turn large, messy qualitative data sets into clear, actionable design direction.
- Write the interface, not just design it: craft clear, user-centred UX copy and microcopy — labels, empty states, errors, onboarding — so the product reads as well as it looks.
- Document and narrate your work: write strong, structured case studies that explain the problem, your decisions and trade-offs, and the outcomes, so your thinking is legible to the team and to clients.
- Facilitate workshops: plan and run co-creation, design-thinking, and alignment workshops with cross-functional and client stakeholders and steer them to clear outcomes.
- Lead with stakeholders: present and defend design rationale to non-design audiences, navigate pushback with evidence, and build alignment around user-centric decisions.
- Use AI fluently in your workflow: apply AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, routine UI production, and analysis, freeing your time for the higher-judgement work.
- Proactive Communication: proactively communicate progress, decisions, and risks so that alignment is continuous and surprises are rare.
Key Competencies
- Product strategy. Goes beyond wireframing — understands business metrics (conversion, retention, churn) and aligns design decisions with both user needs and company goals.
- AI literacy. Comfortable using AI tools in design and research workflows — user-testing analysis, routine UI tasks, and synthesising large qualitative data sets.
- Strong portfolio. Two to three deep, end-to-end case studies showing complex problem-solving, measurable business impact, cross-functional collaboration, and the real, iterative process of shipping products.
- UX writing and case-study craft. Writes clear, user-centred interface copy, and can document and narrate their own work as well-structured case studies that make their reasoning easy to follow.
- Design systems and scale. Experience building, maintaining, or scaling reusable Figma component libraries that ensure visual consistency and bridge design–engineering handoff.
- Stakeholder leadership. Able to present design rationale to non-design audiences, navigate pushback, facilitate co-creation workshops, and defend user-centric decisions with data.
What We're Looking For
Must-have
- 3–5 years of experience designing and shipping real digital products (web and/or mobile), not solely producing mock-ups.
- A strong portfolio with 2–3 deep, end-to-end case studies that show your problem framing, the trade-offs you weighed, how you collaborated cross-functionally, and the outcomes your work drove.
- Product strategy thinking — the ability to tie design decisions to business metrics, not just visual polish.
- Mastery of Figma, including hands-on experience building or maintaining reusable component libraries and design systems.
- Strong interaction and visual design fundamentals — hierarchy, typography, layout, responsive behaviour, and a working awareness of accessibility (WCAG).
- User research and synthesis skills — you can run usability sessions and turn qualitative findings into clear design direction.
- Strong written communication — UX writing/content design, and the ability to write clear, well-structured case studies that document your work and reasoning.
- Confident stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation — you can present rationale to non-designers, handle pushback, and run co-creation sessions to a clear outcome.
- AI literacy in design and research workflows.
- Ownership and self-direction — you take projects end-to-end, keep your team aligned and looped in, and don't need to be chased. This is the single most important quality for this role.
Good to have
- Front-end literacy (HTML/CSS basics) and a genuine understanding of design–engineering handoff.
- Advanced prototyping and motion/interaction design skills.
- Domain exposure in enterprise SaaS, B2B, or government / public-sector platforms.
- Some experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior designers.
- Familiarity with design ops and the governance of a scaling design system.
