As a Senior UI Artist, you will collaborate closely with game designers, UX designers, developers, and product teams to translate gameplay systems into elegant, engaging, and player-friendly interfaces.
What do you need to do (Role and Responsibilities)
- You will work closely with the Product Managers and Game Designers to create clean, clutter-free, user-centric, trendy and easy-to-understand user interfaces (UI) for mobile games.
- You need to be dedicated to researching and playing hundreds of mobile games to understand the industry's best practices.
- Work on the UI design and graphics (menus, HUDs, etc.) as per the requirements.
- Design and produce high-quality UI screens, including menus, HUDs, pop-ups, shops, inventory, social features, events, and onboarding flows.
- Create icons, buttons, badges, UI frames, typography treatments, and visual components consistent with the game's art direction.
- Maintain and evolve the UI style guide and design system for consistency across the game.
- Ensure UI is optimised for multiple mobile resolutions, aspect ratios, and device performance constraints.
- Prepare and export optimised assets (sprites, atlases, 9-slice UI, animations) in accordance with the technical specifications.
- Work with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation in the game engine (Unity).
- Ability to make design decisions and take on design problems independently, present and sell design concepts.
- Ensure UI clarity, hierarchy, accessibility, and readability across all user touchpoints.
Who could you be Background and Experience:
- You should be well-versed in AI tools and platforms that aid UI design.
- You should have a background in graphic design/interaction design/HCI related areas. You should have at least 4-5 years of experience in mobile games/apps.
- At least shipped 5 apps/games as a UI Designer/Artist.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator (and/or similar design tools) for creating flowcharts, wireframes and Final UI Design mock-ups.
- Familiarity with Unity UI, or similar engine workflows (implementation experience is a plus).
- Strong sense of layout, typography, iconography, and visual hierarchy.
- Possess an excellent understanding of visual design principles, style guidelines, design processes, and creative workflow.
- Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, touch interaction design, and usability best practices.
- Knowledge of game UI production pipelines and asset optimisation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work within art direction and brand guidelines while pushing creative quality.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, production-ready assets.
- Ability to give and receive constructive criticism and critique with a focus on improving quality
- Team player with a great attitude & love for mobile games
- A portfolio with shipped mobile games or UI design case studies is mandatory.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, interaction design, or equivalent industry experience in the design field.
