General Counsel Technology

FIL General Counsel Technology is responsible for providing IT solutions to the Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Tax and Shareholder Service functions. These are global functions comprised of approximately 400 employees based in 26 countries. General Counsel Technology partners with its business stakeholders to identify their requirements and develop/implement technology solutions. This includes on-premise, SaaS and AWS solutions, both in-house built and vendor provided. There is a strong focus on data analytics, workflow and automation tools to bring greater efficiencies to these functions. Together with this there is continued move towards greater use of Agile and DevOps practices. The GC Technology team itself consists of approximately 25 people based in both the UK and India.

Role
Senior Test Analyst will be responsible for liaising with the test lead, project managers, business analysts, development and business teams to estimate, plan and execute the diverse testing tasks and phases. This will involve creation and maintenance of all functional and non-functional activities including defining test strategy, test plan, defect management, reporting testing status to all the stakeholders and acting as a quality custodian for our applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Display professional ethics in his/her approach to work and exhibit a high-level ownership within a demanding working environment.
  • Liaise with Business & Technology stakeholders to develop strong understanding of the business process and system requirements.
  • Comprehend business requirements and build test strategy, test plan, test cases and the automation framework to ensure successful outcome of testing.
  • Execution of data test scripts/scenarios in timely, efficient and organized way.
  • Reporting the test preparation and test execution progress to various stakeholders.
  • Conduct and actively participate in defect triage and root cause analysis meetings.
  • Assist the project manager in sprint activities such as sprint planning, estimation sessions and running daily calls.
  • Comply with the test standards, procedures and methodologies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing standards, process, procedure and methodology.
  • Provide trusted advice to stakeholders by building relationships across the portfolios and influence stakeholder decisions at all levels.

Experience and Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech/MBA/M.C.A/Any other Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 4-7 years of experience in manual testing plus good exposure to automation tools and frameworks- BDD, Python, Selenium (Selenium Web Driver), TestNg, and CI/CD pipeline would be an added advantage.
  • Experience of working with agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Zephyr.
  • Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
  • Experience in writing test strategies, test plans and test cases as well as the test execution.
  • Experience in test estimation using various estimation techniques.
  • Experience and understanding of Financial Instruments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high focus on customers.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
