Purpose

The Senior Technician Manufacturing is responsible for executing and overseeing formulation and manufacturing activities in compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. The role involves operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient production of pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Job Responsibilities / Deliverables

Manufacturing Operations

Execute formulation and manufacturing processes for solid/semisolid dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, ointmentsas applicable).

Operate, set up, clean, and maintain production equipment such as granulators, blenders, compression machines, coating machines, filling lines, etc.

Perform in-process checks and ensure batch records are completed accurately and in real time.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure adherence to cGMP, SOPs, safety guidelines, and data integrity requirements.

Review and verify batch manufacturing records (BMRs), logbooks, and equipment usage records.

Support deviation handling, investigations, CAPA implementation, and change controls.

Equipment & Troubleshooting

Identify and resolve routine equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.

Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.

Support equipment qualification and process validation activities.

Team Support & Training

Guide and mentor junior technicians and operators on shop-floor activities.

Assist in training on SOPs, equipment operation, and safety practices.

Act as a shift lead when required.

Quality & Safety

Ensure proper housekeeping and compliance with EHS requirements.

Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and quality audits.

Promote continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

ITI / Diploma (Mechanical / Electrical / Pharma)/BSC or equivalent

Additional Skills & Competencies

In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical formulation processes.

Strong understanding of cGMP, data integrity, and regulatory requirements.

Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues.

Leadership skills with the ability to train and guide junior staff.
