As a Senior Technical Writer, you will lead our documentation strategy and information architecture, creating high-quality content that enhances the user experience while mentoring junior team members. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible materials and drive documentation best practices across the organization.

What will you do as a Senior Technical Writer at Tessell

• Lead Documentation Strategy - Develop comprehensive documentation strategies aligned with product roadmaps and establish technical content standards, style guides, and governance frameworks.
• Advanced Technical Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of database technologies, cloud infrastructure, API design, or similar complex technical domains.
• Create Advanced Technical Content - Produce complex, authoritative content including architectural overviews, integration guides, advanced API documentation, and technical white papers.
• Information Architecture: Creating and organizing content structures for intricate technical products
• Mentor and Review - Provide guidance to junior writers, conduct thorough content reviews, and facilitate documentation training across teams.
• Drive Content Innovation - Research and implement cutting-edge documentation tools, methodologies, and automation to improve efficiency and user experience.
• Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration - Facilitate communication between engineering, product, support, and UX teams to ensure documentation addresses user needs throughout the product lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in technical communication, computer science, or related field Master's degree preferred.
• 4 - 8 years of progressive technical writing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Demonstrated expertise with documentation platforms, static site generators, and content management systems.
• Strong portfolio showcasing complex technical documentation projects and leadership initiatives.
• Experience with developer-focused documentation, API reference materials, and technical architecture documentation.
