    Job Description:

    Role: As a Senior Technical Writer, you will lead the documentation function at WizCommerce- overseeing the creation, organization, and quality of all product and operational documentation. You'll manage a team of technical writers, ensuring consistent standards, accuracy, and tone across all internal and customer-facing materials. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance hands-on writing with mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.

    Responsibilities:

    Team Leadership & Management

    • Manage and mentor a team of technical writers, setting clear goals, reviewing their work, and driving continuous skill development.
    • Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, and best practices across the team.
    • Allocate work effectively to meet deadlines for multiple product lines and releases.

    Documentation Strategy & Ownership

    • Define and own the documentation roadmap aligned with product and organizational goals.
    • Drive the end-to-end documentation process from planning and drafting to publishing and maintenance.
    • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure timely and accurate documentation of new features.

    Content Development & Maintenance

    Create, review, and maintain high-quality materials, including:

    • Product manuals, release notes, and API documentation
    • Helpdesk articles and FAQs
    • Internal SOPs, onboarding handbooks, and process docs

    Regularly audit and update existing content to align with new releases or policy changes.

    Knowledge Base Management

    • Own and optimize the documentation ecosystem (Notion, Confluence, Zendesk, Google Workspace, etc.) for version control, accessibility, and usability.
    • Ensure consistent tone, structure, and formatting across all repositories.

    Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Customer Success, and Support to collect information and convert complex concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
    • Work closely with Customer Support to identify recurring queries and proactively create helpful self-serve resources.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, including 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity managing a team.
    • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, engaging content.
    • Expertise with tools such as Notion, Confluence, Zendesk, and Google Workspace.
    • Strong leadership, project management, and editorial skills.
    • Understanding of SaaS, APIs, and B2B product environments.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good to Have:

    • Experience building or scaling a technical documentation team in a startup or SaaS company.
    • Exposure to UI/UX writing, product tours, or in-app guidance.
    • Ability to create visuals like flow diagrams, screenshots, and product walkthroughs.
    • Familiarity with SEO optimization for help content.
    • Experience working in an Agile or PLG (Product-Led Growth) setup.
