Role Summary

The above position is an internal technical expert responsible for de-risking the wind development pipeline from the initial feasibility stage through to final execution readiness. This role is crucial and requires deep expertise in wind resource assessment, validation, grid engineering, and Balance of Plant (BoP) risk quantification.

Key Responsibilities

1. Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) & Energy Yield Vetting

  • WRA Validation: Rigorously vet, question, and validate third-party Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) reports, including long-term correction factors, data filtering, and mast/LiDAR deployment methodologies.
  • Yield Modelling: Conduct independent internal checks on energy yield models (P50/P90/P99) using industry-standard software (e.g., WindPRO, WAsP) to quantify technical uncertainties and commercial risks.
  • Micro-Siting Review: Review and approve the final micro-siting layout, ensuring compliance with turbulence intensity limits, wake effect minimisation, and specific WTG model constraints.

2. Site Engineering and Execution Risk Assessment -

  • Site Due Diligence: Evaluate site-specific execution risks by reviewing geotechnical reports, topographical surveys, and hydrological data. Quantify potential cost overruns related to soil conditions and logistics (transportation access).
  • BoP Scope Definition: Define the detailed technical scope and specifications for the Balance of Plant (BoP), including civil works (access roads, foundations), electrical works (internal network, switchgear), and control systems.

3. Procurement and Project Management Support

  • Contract Technical Input: Provide technical specifications and inputs for all major contracts, specifically finalising the Power Performance Curve (PPC) Guarantees and technical schedules in the WTG Supply Agreement and the EPC Contract.
  • Technical Bid Evaluation: Conduct the technical evaluation of bids submitted by WTG suppliers and EPC contractors.
  • Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Serve as the project's technical owner for critical construction phases (e.g., foundation pouring, grid substation energisation), ensuring quality standards are maintained by the EPC contractor.

Education: - B. Tech/M. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.

Experience: - 5 8 years of direct experience in the development, engineering, or technical advisory of utility-scale wind projects (ISTS connected). Technical Skills Mandatory
